Less than a week after opening a major rennovation and expansion of the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, the director of that institution for the last four years, Michael de Marsche has resigned. We talk it over with arts reporter Noel Black.

Without question, Michael DeMarche opened the museum and us to more avant garde art pieces by Warhol and Peter Max - however, to me, these artists were the opening to a new artistic adventure which has not happened. More importantly, as pleased as most CSers are with the gallery expansion - I doubt seriously that it is paid for. What are real finanical numbers associated with this construction? Are there Certificates of Particiaption? How has this been fully paid? With appreciation of your coverage,

As far as I know, only government entities can use certificates of participation, and since the FAC is a private non-profit, I don't think that was an option.
