Imagine waiting for the Senator you helped elect to side with you on a issue of constitutional proportions.(the government taking of private property)
Ken Salazar gave us a song and dance on Tuesday worthy of Fred Astair.
Expanding Pinon Canyon from 235,000 acres to nearly 650,000 acres, gobbling up working ranches that provide beef for Americans to consume, seeds to replant Wildfire burn areas and in the near future may light up Pueblo, Trinidad and towns inbetween with wind generated power is definitely a National Security Issue which the Pentagon is using as a loophole to steal citizens land.
But the National Security issue is not soldier training, but the loss of Agricultural land, alternative energy land and reclamation land which would pour millions upon millions into the economy of Southeastern Colorado and the state of Colorado as a whole.
Southeastern Colorado is not the only area that the Military is looking to take land from UNWILLING sellers on farms and ranches across the globe for bases and training. Guam, Hawaii, Arizona, New Mexico, Italy, SanDiego and South Korea are under the gun for massive expansion by the US Department of Defense.
If the military keeps grabbing agricultural land at the rate our Political leaders are allowing, we will become dependent on food from Mars!
The government has enough land already, some 670 MILLION acres, that could be used for testing weapons and training soldiers.
We've had enough rehtoric and expect the politians we put in office to hear our voices and act according to our wishes not the voices and wishes of the defense contractors and war mongers.
The money would be better spent supplying our troops with better arms, vehicles and protective equipment. Colorado Springs and Pueblo will get the same economic advantages as Trinidad did when the FIRST Pinon Canyon was opened. How much money did Trinidad get?? Zip, Zilch, Nada, NOTHING!
Wake up Senator Salazar
