Jane Turnis

Vice President for Communications, Colorado College

Jane leads the college’s Communications Division, which includes 91.5 KRCC. The division also includes the Office of Communications, which crafts the college’s website; strategic-plan, admission, and advancement communications; the alumni magazine; writing; editing; graphic design; photography; video; and social media. The college Print Shop is also in the division.

Jane joined CC in 2003 and served as the college’s media relations director and director of communications before she was named vice president for communications in 2013. Before CC, she was an award-winning newspaper journalist for 17 years, working as an editor, reporter, columnist, page designer, and copy editor of news, business, and features at The Tampa Tribune, The (Colorado Springs) Gazette, The Clearwater (Fla.) Sun, and the (Dubuque, Iowa) Telegraph Herald. Between journalism and the college, she specialized in public relations at two advertising agencies.

She has been a member, fan, and supporter of 91.5 KRCC since discovering it the very first week she arrived in Colorado Springs in 1989.
