A candlelight vigil Tuesday honored the memory of Christy Galella, Andrew Myers, and Jennifer Vasquez, the three victims of last year's Halloween shootings in Colorado Springs.

Dozens of people gathered on the Shooks Run pedestrian bridge over Platte Avenue, the street where, one year ago, a shooter killed three before being fatally shot by police.

The bridge was decorated with candles, bows, and pictures of the victims.

At dusk, Reverend Nori Rost of All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church gave opening remarks.

"We will not let murder have the final say," she said. "We will remember instead their vibrant lives full of hope and love, their messy humanity that always sought a higher plane."

One of the victim's mothers, Vanessa Rich, spoke as well, thanking her family and the community for the support she felt.

The vigil was organized by Mothers of Murdered Youth, a support group for families of murder victims.
