Coronavirus In Colorado- Wed., May 13 Updates: State Surpasses 1,000 Deaths From COVID-19

---Latest Statewide Data Shows More Than 20,470 Cases Of COVID-19 In Colorado---

There are 20,475 known confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. This includes both people who have tested positive for the virus and people who have exhibited symptoms, as well as having close contact with someone who tested positive.

1,062 people have died and more than 3,730 people have been hospitalized due to the novel coronavirus in the state. The data is complete through May 12.

In Southern and Southeastern Colorado counties, known cases of COVID-19 are as follows:

  • El Paso – 1,175
  • Douglas – 612
  • Pueblo – 188
  • Chaffee – 69
  • Elbert – 41
  • Crowley – 39**
  • Alamosa – 33
  • Teller – 31
  • Kit Carson – 25
  • Fremont – 23 
  • Baca – 12
  • Otero – 11
  • Prowers – 9
  • Cheyenne – 4 
  • Las Animas – 4
  • Costilla – 4
  • Lincoln – 3
  • Huerfano – 3
  • Custer – 2
  • Bent – 1
  • Kiowa – 0

** The state has identified the Crowley County Correctional Facility as among the known outbreaks of COVID-19 in the state. The state made the designation on Saturday, May 2. The list of known outbreaks is publicly updated each Wednesday.

There are 20,157 known confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state, according to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. This includes both people who tested positive for the virus and people who have been in contact with someone who tested positive and is exhibiting symptoms.

3,695 people have been hospitalized and 1009 people have died thus far due to the novel coronavirus in Colorado. More than 109,304 people have been tested, though the number may not include all negative results.

There are 199 known outbreaks reported at residential and non-hospital healthcare facilities, prisons or other facilities.

Additionally, Colfax County in Northern New Mexico continues to hold steady, with five known cases of COVID-19. At least 416 people there have been tested.
