A recently released sustainability report celebrates environmental and cultural action in the Pikes Peak region.
The organization Peak Alliance for a Sustainable Future produced the report, which highlights achievements in areas such as agriculture, health, and transportation.
Drew Johnson leads the board for Peak Alliance. He says the publication helps to compile a lot of community action into one accessible place.
"People aren't always communicating about what other organizations are doing," he said. "We're all working really hard, and in our own silos, and it's a great way to bring all that to the surface in a visually appealing way."
Among the projects outlined are urban farming and construction of high efficiency buildings in Colorado Springs. The report [.pdf] also includes suggestions and advice for community members who want to live more sustainably.
