  • Amazon announced plans today to open a new 800,000 square foot fulfillment center in Colorado Springs that will create more than 1,000 full-time jobs. In a statement, Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers said the facility will bring a "wealth of good-paying jobs in our Southeast quadrant and continued positive growth at the Colorado Springs Airport." According to Amazon, the company has an additional 4,000 employees throughout the state...
     
  • The Arkansas Valley Conduit may get another $8 million dollars if President Donald Trump’s budget is approved by Congress. That's according to The Chieftan. Last week, the federal government approved $28 million in funding toward the proposed 130-mile pipeline that would carry cleaner water to as many as 40 communities east of Pueblo. An additional $100 million in financing was approved by the Colorado Water Conservation Board. That deal is under consideration by the state Legislature. The total cost of the conduit is estimated to be $600 million...
