  • Gas prices in the Pikes Peak region have fallen to their lowest level in nearly a year. According to The Gazette, some energy experts say global concerns about the deadly coronavirus are playing a role in driving down prices. That's due to fears the virus will cause an economic downturn and slash demand for oil. Analysts says seasonal factors also play into the decline in prices, as they typically drop during the first six weeks of the new year. Yesterday afternoon a gallon of regular unleaded fuel was $2.40 on average in the Colorado Springs-area. That's down nearly 6 cents from last week and the cheapest since late March, according to GasBuddy.com. The paper says lower gas prices could be found in several areas around town and in outlying areas, including Woodland Park...
