  • The Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce is launching a new nationwide marketing campaign to secure the city's place as the permanent home of the U.S. Space Command. CPR's Dan Boyce reports…
     
  • A democrat sponsored bill currently being considered by state legislators would increase student access to free tampons and pads at Colorado schools. The measure would establish a grant that would be used to install dispensers for the products in bathrooms at schools that don’t have them. Low-income schools would be given priority access to funding. Sponsors of the measure say it’s a step toward normalizing periods as a bodily function and meeting basic student needs. Several students testified in front of lawmakers. They said the stigma associated with being on their period at school impacts the learning environment. That includes missing school, being distracted, and not having menstrual products on hand when they needed them. Republican expressed concern with the cost of the measure. The house education committee passed it on a party-line vote. It's now in front of the appropriations committee...
