Colorado Spring’s ‘Olympic City’ Sign Vandalized In Protest Over De’Von Bailey Shooting

The “Olympic City USA″ sign that greets drivers on Interstate 25 entering Colorado Springs has been vandalized with a reference to a teenager who was shot and killed by police last summer.

Red paint was splashed across the sign and with the scrawled words ”De’Von will not RIP,” according to The Gazette.

Last month, a grand jury cleared two Colorado Springs police officers in the killing 19-year-old De’Von Bailey, who was shot in the back and arm as he was running away from officers Aug. 3. Officers say they found a gun in Bailey’s pants.

The vandalism comes days after two women protesting Bailey’s killing were arrested for blocking a holiday parade by lying in the street.
